Digital or Analog notes?
I have a question for my pattern making peers: there have been repeated studies that say memory retention is better when taking notes by hand. However, during a fitting there can be a lot going on and many times the note-taking duties are given to an assistant to type into a computer.
Do you find that if you did not write (or type) the notes yourself that you don’t remember it as clearly when making pattern corrections, or sending the comments to the factory? And what about using voice-activated note taking software?
I am searching for the link between the hands-on act of fitting a garment, internalizing the steps that need to be taken to correct the pattern, and the method of remembering those steps at a later time.
I appreciate any insight into the workings of a pattern makers brain!
